The Alabama STEM Council, in partnership with the Teaching Institute for Excellence in STEM (TIES), recently released the chosen beneficiaries of the STEM Learning Ecosystem Planning Incentives (SLEPI). Among the initial recipients is Montgomery Chamber’s TechMGM, recognized as a leading technology and innovation hub in Alabama which is looking to grow and connect the I-85 region from Auburn to Tuskegee to Montgomery.

In early 2022, the Alabama State Port Authority approved a land deal in Montgomery County to construct an inland container intermodal transfer facility (ICTF). The first step, in a multi-step process allows for intermodal rail service from the Port Authority’s container intermodal terminal at the Port of Mobile in support of Montgomery regional growth in manufacturing, retail, distribution, and agribusiness sectors. Today, in Los Angeles, Hyundai Motor America introduced the all-new 2022 Tucson to the U.S. automotive media. During the press event, José Muñoz, president and CEO, Hyundai Motor North America, announced Hyundai is expanding the number of models it builds in the U.S. with the addition of 2022 Tucson production at the Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama (HMMA) plant in Montgomery starting in 2021.
