Montgomery Launches Smart Parking with Park Mobile Partnership

With an increase of 400,000 more visitors last year and an ever-expanding array of dining, hotel and entertainment options, parking is a premium in downtown Montgomery. The City’s new partnership with ParkMobile, the nation’s leading provider of smart parking and mobility solutions, will trade the hassle of meters and loose change for the convenience of paying for parking from nearly any mobile device.

Montgomery Wins International Smart City Challenge

The City of Montgomery has earned its place as one of five Smart Cities Readiness Challenge winners thanks to the collaborative efforts of a team comprising the City, County, Montgomery Public Schools, Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce and Alabama Power Company. By winning the Smart Cities Readiness Challenge, Montgomery will receive global recognition, new development opportunities and access to a year-long technology program.

Montgomery Launches Smart City Living Lab

Today, the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce along with Mayor Todd Strange, County Commission Chairman Elton Dean and Alabama Power’s Southern Division Vice President Leslie Sanders announced the creation of a Smart City Living Lab in downtown Montgomery. TechMGM Poised for Growth with Appointment of New Leadership

Today, Montgomery leaders announced a pioneering move for the city’s economic development future. The Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce, along with Mayor Todd Strange and County Commission Chairman Elton Dean announced in a press conference that the TechMGM initiative has been formally organized. The initiative will be led by recently named Executive Director Charisse Stokes and the Chamber’s Vice President of Strategic Initiatives and Federal Affairs, Lora McClendon.

TechMGM’s “Camp IT” Introduces Montgomery Middle Schoolers to STEM and Information Technology Careers

On April 13, 2018 over 100 Montgomery middle school students will have a chance to get one on one interaction with local leaders in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math as well as Information Technology careers at Camp IT. This hands-on camp is organized by TechMGM, the partnership behind Montgomery’s technology strategy, with a goal of developing a strong workforce ready to create and work for innovative companies in Montgomery and the Montgomery AFCEA Chapter.
