    TROY Alumna Joins Alma Matter
    A graduate of Troy University’s Risk Management and Insurance Program has taken the reins of the program as its director. Dr. Courtney Bass Baggett, a 2012 RMI graduate, was appointed to the role by Sorrell College of Business Dean Dr. Judson Edwards, following the retirement of past director Dr. Ed Duett in May. Baggett joined the faculty of the Department of Risk Management and Data Analytics in 2017 as an assistant professor, having been an assistant professor at Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana. As Director, Baggett said she will focus on student preparation for the workplace and expanding relationships with industry professionals.
     
    Bright Joins Alabama Farmers Federation
    Lauren Bright, a 13-year Alfa Insurance veteran, joined the Alabama Farmers Federation as Alfa’s Health Manager in August. In her new role, she’s helping members access Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama products through local Alfa Insurance offices and the Federation home office. As a third-generation member of the Alfa family, Bright said she understands the importance of the Federation and the insurance company’s joint work. Her father and grandfather were both Alfa agents in Walker County.
     
    Hill Hill Carter Elects Managing Shareholder
    David W. Henderson has been re-elected Managing Shareholder of the Hill Hill Carter Franco Cole & Black, P.C.  for a fourth consecutive term. In this role, Henderson oversees the management of the firm and develops and implements the firm’s long-term strategy, focusing on client service, value billing, operational efficiencies, diversity, pro bono initiatives and tactical growth.
     
    Caddell Construction Announces New HR Promotions
    Jaime Andress has been promoted to Director of Human Resources at Caddell Construction. She will lead the team that handles hiring, retaining and developing talent for the general contractor’s three corporate office locations. Andress joined Caddell last July as the Training and Development Manager.
     
    Ryan Stanford has been promoted to Human Resources Manager and will maintain his role as a Corporate EEO Officer. Stanford now has oversight for the team that handles all corporate recruiting efforts and will continue holding responsibility for all EEO requirements. He joined Caddell in 2014 as Corporate Recruiter and has set a new standard for attracting top-notch talent to the company. In 2018, he took on the additional role of Corporate EEO Officer.
     
    Alfa Insurance Names New VP
    To better align talent and resources at Alfa Insurance, changes within operations continue to emphasize a unified, customer-focused strategy. Chad Edwards now leads the P&C Actuarial and Project Management Office teams as Senior Vice President of Product and Data Management. He will retain his responsibilities overseeing the Strategic Resources team, which include Data Analytics, P&C and Life Products, Business Intelligence and Corporate Reporting functions.
     
    South University Board of Trustees Announces Chancellor
    The South University Board of Trustees Board Chair Dr. Michael Colegrove announced the appointment of Dr. Steven K. Yoho as Chancellor and Chief Executive Officer for South University effective August 30, 2019. Yoho brings a wealth of experience in higher education and business. He returned to South University last year as Vice Chancellor for Strategy and Administration before assuming the interim Chancellor responsibilities.
     
    MMFA Has New Director of Development 
    The Director and Board of Trustees at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts (MMFA) recently appointed Tisha Rhodes as the Museum’s new Director of Development. Rhodes came to the MMFA after spending two years as the Public Affairs and Development Director for another local non-profit, The Family Sunshine Center. Rhodes’ arrival at the Museum is actually a homecoming, as she previously spent 17 years with the institution as Director of Services. In this role, she managed Café M, the Museum Store and all the institution’s internal and external special events and catering services.
     
    Alabama Power Leadership Changes
    Alabama Power recently announced several leadership changes as part of a strategy to enhance customer experience and the company’s economic development efforts. Jonathan Porter has been elected Senior Vice President, responsible for customer operations. Tony Smoke has been named Vice President for Birmingham Division. Terry Smiley has been elected Vice President, responsible for Eastern Division. Leigh Davis has been named Vice President for Economic and Community Development.
