    Josie Russell Young Joins New Waters Realty

    REALTOR® Josie Russell Young has joined the Sales and Marketing team at New Waters Realty with an extensive background in construction, residential and commercial real estate. A native of Montgomery, Young graduated in 2017 from Troy University and is proud to call the River Region home. She is involved in numerous community and volunteer organizations, such as the Loaned Executive team of the United Way and the YMCA Camp Chandler Board, just to name a few.
     
    Jackson Thornton Names New Principals

    Jackson Thornton, a certified public accounting and consulting firm, announced that Will Jones and Pat Cooper have been selected as the firm’s newest principals. Jones is a principal in the firm’s Opelika office and has been with Jackson Thornton for 11 years. Jones, a Certified Public Accountant, specializes in tax planning and consulting for individuals and closely held businesses. Cooper is a principal in the firm’s Montgomery office, where he has worked for 20 years. Cooper, a Certified Public Accountant, specializes in tax compliance and tax consulting services for utility clients across the United States.
     
    Goodwin Animal Hospital & Pet Resort Welcomes Vet

    Dr. Brad Fields has joined Goodwin Animal Hospital & Pet Resort in Montgomery. Dr. Fields serves as Executive Director of the Alabama Veterinary Medical Foundation and serves his country as a Major in the U.S. Army Veterinary Reserve Corps and is the Officer in Charge for the 7350th Veterinary Medical Detachment. He is adjunct faculty in the Department of Healthcare Organization & Policy at the UAB School of Public Health and affiliate professor in the Department of Pathobiology at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine.
     
    Blake E. Brookshire Joins Capell & Howard P.C.

    Capell & Howard P.C. recently welcomed Attorney Blake E. Brookshire to the firm. Brookshire graduated from Auburn University with a bachelor’s degree in political science and received his juris doctorate, summa cum laude, from the University of Mississippi School of Law in the spring of 2018. His practice includes primarily general civil defense litigation at both the trial and appellate level and covers
    various areas of law.
     
    Harvey Hutchinson III Joins Welch Hornsby

    Welch Hornsby welcomed Harvey A. Hutchinson III as a client advisor in the firm’s Birmingham office. Hutchinson brings more than a decade of experience in financial planning, trusts and estates, and wealth planning to serve high-net-worth individuals and families. He will work with Welch Hornsby’s established team of client advisors to provide comprehensive financial expertise, including personalized financial planning and portfolio management.
     
    Agape Executive Director Retires

    Agape of Central Alabama announced the retirement of longtime Executive Director, Jimmy Dobbs. Hired as Executive Director of Agape in 1985, Dobbs’ leadership has helped expand services across the state of Alabama. Originally a small Montgomery based foster care and adoption agency, Agape now serves families across the state with offices in Montgomery, Birmingham and Enterprise. Dobbs
    said, “I feel blessed to have shared in ministry with so many special people for so many years and to have witnessed all the amazing and incredible things God has done.”
     
    Montgomery Zoo Promotes New Deputy Director

    The Montgomery Zoo and Mann Wildlife Learning Museum announced that Ken Naugher has been named Deputy Director. Naugher began his career with the Montgomery Zoo in 1995 as a Zookeeper and has held various positions with the Zoo including Conservation and Enrichment Manager, Assistant Animal Care Manager and has worked the last three years as Animal Care Manager. Naugher started in his new role on October 20, 2018. In his new position, Naugher will work closely with the Zoo’s Director, Marcia Woodard, to supervise and manage all aspects of the Zoo’s animal collection, including acquisition of new animals, veterinary care and exhibit maintenance and expansion as well as
    administration of the Zoo under the direction of the Director.
     
    Trinity School Hires New Director of Finance and Operations

    Trinity School recently welcomed Merlin (Merle) A. Henkel as the new Director of Finance and Operations. Prior to coming to Trinity, Henkel served as Director of Finance and Operations at The Gregory School in Tucson, Arizona. For the three years prior to going to The Gregory School, he served at Massanutten Military Academy, first as Director of Business Operations and Development, then as Interim Head of School. Henkel has spent more than 25 years in the commercial banking industry, the last 20 years in senior management.
