BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Sept. 18, 2023) – The revolution of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies has rapidly spurred a multitude of legal and regulatory challenges with its fast-paced and escalated usage in virtually every industry. To assist companies with understanding the impact of AI and how it may transform their businesses, Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP has launched its Artificial Intelligence team, a cross-disciplinary team of attorneys who provide strategic counsel on the creation, regulation and use of various AI technologies.

“The unprecedented prevalence and speed of acceptance for AI is hard to ignore, and businesses are eager to use it to create efficiencies within their workforce and product lines. Our team is well positioned to advise companies on how to incorporate AI into their operations while minimizing risk and ensuring compliance at the state and federal level,” said Bradley IP partner A.J. Bahou, leader of the firm’s AI team. “We are excited about these cutting-edge technologies and their influence on our world, and we look forward to utilizing our legal and technology experience to serve our clients.”

Bradley’s AI lawyers pair their knowledge of various sectors – including healthcare, financial service, construction, technology, and insurance – with their proficiency in current and developing law related to AI systems and AI-generated content. As companies continue to incorporate AI into multiple channels of their business plans, they increasingly need knowledgeable and experienced guidance to help them navigate the complex and evolving legal landscape surrounding this dynamic area.

Bradley Chairman of the Board and Managing Partner Jonathan M. Skeeters added, “We are proud to be at the forefront of offering AI-related services to clients across our footprint and beyond, and we understand that the very nature of AI means constant change. Our team has a deep understanding of their clients’ industries, as well as the significant legal and technical experience needed to proactively address the latest legislation or litigation that may impact their client’s business.”

Bradley’s AI team works with clients across industries to guide them on issues relevant to their business, including corporate policies for employee use; compliance with federal and state healthcare and data privacy regulations; vendor agreements to reduce liability; protections for AI-related IP and defense against infringement; AI technologies for financial institutions for compliance with confidentiality and disclosure agreements; and insurance policies that speak to unique AI risk and include AI-related coverage.
