  • Huntingdon Prepares for Commencement 2023

    Among 181 graduates, Huntingdon College will welcome its first-ever class of graduate students to Top Stage on the Huntingdon Green as the College community gathers to celebrate 2023 Commencement Exercises, Saturday, May 6, at 6:00 p.m. Five students will receive hoods as the first graduates in Huntingdon’s Master of Athletic Training program, the College’s first graduate program in its 169-year history. Eighteen graduates who completed degrees through the Evening Studies program will be awarded the Bachelor of Science degree, and 158 traditional day students will be awarded the Bachelor of Arts degree.

    Dr. John Berch, professor of chemistry and a Class of 1998 Huntingdon College alumnus, will offer the Commencement Address. Dr. Berch joined the Huntingdon faculty in 2014 after teaching for the University of South Carolina and for Tennessee Wesleyan University. He completed his Master of Science and Ph.D. in chemistry at the University of South Carolina.

    The rain location for the ceremony is Roland Arena, inside Roland Student Center. Best parking for either location is the Gibbs Tennis Center lot, with entrance on Narrow Lane Road. For guests who need special assistance from parking to the ceremony location, contact security at (334) 324-6565. No vehicles may be driven onto the Huntingdon Green.

    The ceremony will be broadcast live on Boxcast. The processional will begin at 5:50 p.m.
    Huntingdon College is a coeducational residential liberal arts college of the United Methodist Church offering more than thirty undergraduate programs of study, an Honors ProgramPresidential Fellows ProgramKingswood Initiative, choral and instrumental music programs, dance and cheer teams, student organizations including Greek life and Campus Ministries, 21 NCAA-Division III athletic teams, and coed ESports, new for fall 2023. The College also offers the Master of Athletic Training.
