MONTGOMERY ZOO (Montgomery, AL): The Montgomery Zoo invites everyone to join us for an exhilarating visit to our Spring Animal Enrichment Day on Saturday, May 17, 10am – 3pm. Guests can explore the zoo and witness our animals interacting with a variety of creative and stimulating activities. This year’s theme is American Ninja Warrior and our animals are ready to conquer the day!
Visitors will be able to watch over 20 different animals experience unique America Ninja Warrior themed enrichment activities all day long. These activities are presented in forms of toys, puzzles, games, food treats, boxed goodies and more that help exercise our animals both mentally and physically. It is important to stimulate our animals in unique ways to support their well-being, health, and happiness.
The goal of this day is to replicate behaviors that animals experience in their native habitat. We are able to safely provide these activities while consulting with the national animal enrichment databases developed by government agencies and other zoos. All games, items, and toys provided for our animals must be approved before they are placed inside the animal habitats. This ensures the safety of all animals while they still enjoying a unique activity.
Animals at our zoo experience enrichment activities daily, but sometimes they take place behind closed doors from the public. Animal Enrichment Day allows us to bring these activities to the public to show off our animals unique skillsets, while also educating the public.
