    Join us for a special program commemorating our nation’s founding with short readings by bookstore neighbors and friends of our nation’s foundational texts. Dr. Bertis English, author and professor of history and acting dean of Alabama State university’s College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, will preside over the event, offering brief commentary about the various texts selected to recognize the 250th anniversary of the birth of our nation. It happens at The NewSouth Bookstore on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at 5:30 p.m.
