While serving in law enforcement, and after serving on active duty in the Air Force for four years, the events of 9/11 made Chief Master Sergeant Tracy D. Cornett realize he still had more he wanted to give. So, he joined the Air Force Reserve in 2003, and today, he’s still serving, now as the 908th Airlift Wing’s Command Chief.

When he was recently chosen to serve as Alabama Senior Enlisted Leader for the Alabama National Guard, Command Chief Master Sergeant David Bullard partially relocated to Montgomery. Though he still heads to his north-Alabama home on a lot of weekends, he’s also enjoyed connecting with the capital city.

Ensuring that all information moving through the Air Force-wide cyber network gets to the right place at the right time and gets there with privacy intact is the job of the Air Force’s 26th Network Operations Squadron based at Maxwell Air Force Base’s Gunter Annex. Ensuring the 26th NOS does this job well is the job of the squadron commander, Lt. Col. Brian Kirchner, and a year and a half into it, he couldn’t be more impressed with the members of his team.

Lt. General James Hecker is now in charge at Maxwell Air Force Base’s Air University (AU), but he was once an AU student. During his time there in 2006 to 2007, he learned more than AU’s curriculum. He and his family also learned to love the capital city, and they’re now honored to be back.
