    ALABAMA POWER LEADERSHIP CHANGES                                                   
    Mark Crosswhite, Alabama Power chairman, president and CEO, recently announced the board of directors has elected Alexia Borden as senior vice president and general counsel. Borden most recently served as the company’s vice president with responsibility for Governmental Affairs. She succeeds Matt Bowden, who passed away October 11. The Alabama Power board of directors also elected Houston Smith vice president with responsibility for Governmental Affairs. Smith most recently served as the company’s director of Corporate Affairs. “Alexia and Houston bring tremendous experience and knowledge of the company to their new roles,” Crosswhite said. “They will continue to be strong contributors to Alabama Power’s leadership team as we strive every day to serve the needs of our customers.”                                         
                                                               
    JACKSON THORNTON NAMES NEW PRINCIPAL                                           
    Jackson Thornton announced that Woody Trimble has been selected as the firm’s newest principal. Trimble is a principal in the firm’s Montgomery office, where he has worked for more than 17 years. Trimble, a Certified Public Accountant, specializes in audit, accounting and consulting projects for utility clients across the Southeast. He is a graduate of Troy University where he obtained his undergraduate and Master of Business Administration degrees. He holds professional membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants and is affiliated with numerous utility-specific associations.
     
    RIVER BANK & TRUST HAS NEW HIRE FOR NEW BRANCH
    Alabama-based River Bank & Trust has been approved by the Alabama State Banking Department to open a loan production office in Daphne, Alabama. Leading the bank’s team in Daphne is Doug Thomas. For 15 years, Thomas has shared his banking knowledge and exceptional customer service with clients throughout the coastal region of Alabama. “Being a part of the River Bank team is an extremely exciting opportunity. I look forward to bringing a strong brand with competitive products and excellent service into our local community,” said Thomas. A graduate of Satsuma High School, Doug went on to receive his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Auburn University and an MBA with a concentration in Finance from Capella University.

Louis Hawkins, a resident of Auburn, has 27 years of experience providing accounting, tax, audit and advisory services. Jessica L. Pagan, a resident of Valley, has 14 years of experience providing accounting, tax, audit and advisory services. Lesley L. Price, a resident of Auburn, has more than 19 years of experience providing accounting, tax services and advisory services. Nick Wheeler, a resident of Auburn, has 18 years of experience providing accounting, tax and advisory services.
