January 22 — The Montgomery Biscuits are officially stepping into an exciting new chapter as part of OnDeck Partners, a newly launched sports ownership group committed to strengthening the connection between Minor League Baseball teams and the communities they serve.

Announced on December 11, 2025, the acquisition places the Biscuits, Double-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, alongside the Visalia Rawhide under the OnDeck Partners banner. The move marks OnDeck’s first entry into Minor League Baseball and signals a long-term vision centered on affordable entertainment, enhanced fan experiences, and meaningful community engagement.
 
A Community-Driven Vision for the Biscuits
For more than two decades, the Montgomery Biscuits have been one of Minor League Baseball's most popular organizations, noted for their innovative promotions, family-friendly atmosphere, and strong local ties across the River Region. OnDeck Partners has made it clear that these traditions will not only be preserved, but further elevated.

That vision came to life on January 21, when the community gathered at Riverwalk Stadium to celebrate the Biscuits’ new ownership with an official ribbon cutting ceremony. Local vendors participated, families enjoyed activities and food, and the atmosphere reflected the Biscuits’ long-standing role as a place where Montgomery comes together. OnDeck Partners is backed by the Avenue Sports Fund, led by Marc Lasry, Chairman and CEO of Avenue Capital Group. The OnDeck executive team, CEO Mike Carney, COO Jeff Wilen, and CFO Chirag Mithani, brings decades of experience across sports, business, and entertainment, providing a strong operational foundation for the organization.
