  • Creating and retaining jobs is at the heart of the mission of the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce. Since 2010, Montgomery County has consistently ranked within the top three among all Alabama counties in terms of announced new industry, jobs and/or capital investment. Additionally, the Chamber’s Business Retention and Expansion (BRE) program launched as a result of the Imagine a Greater Montgomery initiative and is directly responsible for securing and growing over 10,500 jobs in the region’s economy since 2010.

An extensive service industry, wholesale and retail trade, and a thriving industrial base contribute to the city’s vibrant and well-balanced economic environment.

In the 2017 New and Expanded Industries Report recently released by the Alabama Department of Commerce, Montgomery led every other county in the state for announced jobs by new and expanding industries, with 1,056 jobs announced last year. Also highlighted in the report, Montgomery announced a total of 30 new and expanded companies, and a capital investment of $204.9 million.
