  • Montgomery Zoo Sets Dates for Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Opening on New Entrance Complex

MONTGOMERY ZOO (Montgomery, AL): The Montgomery Zoo invites all press and media partners to join us on Monday, September 14 at 11:00 AM for the formal ribbon cutting of the Zoo’s brand‑new admissions complex. Mayor Steven Reed and other city leaders will deliver remarks followed by the ceremonial ribbon cutting for the new entrance.

Following the ribbon cutting, attendees are invited to participate in a tour of the new facility, with complimentary Zoo admission available for those wishing to continue their visit.

Light snacks will be provided, and members of the Zoo’s Animal Ambassador Team will be on hand to greet guests and welcome everyone to the celebration.

The new admissions complex was designed by Bargainer, Davis, Williams Architects Association and constructed by Holley Henley Builders, whose partnership helped bring this project to life.

“We are so thankful for the City of Montgomery for making this possible. Our staff has been hard at work getting the finishing touches complete for everyone to enjoy,” says Marcia Woodard, Zoo Director.

The new admissions complex will be open to the public on Tuesday, September 15th. This transformative project represents a major step forward in enhancing guest experience, improving accessibility, and creating a warm welcome for visitors from across the River Region and beyond.

The new complex allows zoo staff to better serve guests and members through updated amenities. It features new restrooms, a lactation room, improved security measures, staff accommodations and a refreshed look to create an inviting environment for guests.  The Zoo looks forward to welcoming guests through the new entrance and celebrating this exciting step forward.
