Montgomery, Ala. -Trenholm State Community College is pleased to announce a donation from Alabama Power of a bucket truck to support hands-on training in the College’s Commercial Driver License (CDL) and Lineworker Training programs.
The donated equipment will provide students with practical experience operating equipment used in the utility industry while strengthening instruction in equipment operation, workplace safety, commercial vehicle operation, and other industry-relevant skills.
Trenholm State’s 10-week Lineworker Training Program prepares students for careers in the utility industry through hands-on instruction in pole climbing, electrical safety, equipment operation, commercial truck driving, and related skills. The bucket truck will complement this training while providing an additional resource for students in the College’s CDL program.
“We are grateful to Alabama Power for investing in Trenholm State students and workforce development,” said Dr. Kemba Chambers, president of Trenholm State Community College. “This donation provides valuable hands-on training that will help prepare our students for careers in high-demand industries.”
The donation reflects Alabama Power’s commitment to workforce development and its partnership with Trenholm State to prepare skilled workers for Alabama’s workforce.
