MONTGOMERY, AL — The City of Montgomery is making it easier than ever for residents to see how their Fire/Rescue Department is protecting the community. New data released through the City’s Open Data Portal highlights the thousands of calls answered this year and the millions of dollars in property saved through fast, professional response.

Every day, Montgomery Fire/Rescue responds to emergencies large and small — from house fires and medical calls to accidents and hazardous situations. In 2025 alone, firefighters and paramedics have already answered more than 32,000 calls for service, saving lives and protecting homes across every neighborhood in the city.

That commitment has made a difference for families. This year, more than $55 million worth of property and belongings have been protected from fire and disaster because of Montgomery Fire/Rescue’s swift response.

“Our residents deserve to know how their first responders are working for them,” said Mayor Steven L. Reed. “By opening this data to the public, we are giving people a clear picture of the lifesaving impact Montgomery Fire/Rescue has each and every day. This is about building trust and showing the value of the men and women who put their lives on the line to protect us.”

The City’s Open Data Portal provides easy-to-use dashboards that track response times, incident locations, and resources deployed. It also highlights Montgomery Fire/Rescue’s standing as one of the top-rated departments in the world — holding both an ISO Class 1 rating and dual international accreditations.

The portal isn’t just for fire and rescue data. It also features information on crime, infrastructure, planning, and more — tools designed to help residents, business leaders, and community partners better understand the city they call home.

“Montgomery’s Open Data Portal is about more than numbers,” Mayor Reed added. “It’s about empowering our residents with knowledge, helping us all make informed decisions, and strengthening the bond between the City and the people we serve.”
