  • Montgomery County Commission Approves FY2026 Budget

    The Montgomery County Commission has approved a $156,586,324 budget for fiscal year 2026, focused on economic development, public safety and infrastructure investments.

    The budget includes approximately $53 million for general government operations, $60 million for public safety and $21 million for highways and roads.

    “With the FY2026 budget, we are laying the groundwork for continued growth and opportunity across Montgomery County,” said Commission Chairman Doug Singleton. “This balanced budget prioritizes safety, infrastructure, and services that improve quality of life while ensuring every dollar is spent responsibly and with full accountability to our citizens.”

    The budget includes funding for employee merit increases and allocates approximately $810,000 for construction costs associated with additions and renovations for county buildings, as well as other improvements.

    Additional highlights feature approximately $8 million for culture and recreation in Montgomery County, including funding for the Montgomery City County Library System, the Pike Road Library, the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts and other cultural and recreational activities.
