City of Montgomery Announces 2025 Veterans Day Theme: “Montgomery Salutes: 50 Years Later, Never Forgotten”
September 11, 2025MONTGOMERY, AL – The City of Montgomery has announced the theme for its 2025 Veterans Day commemoration: “Montgomery Salutes: 50 Years Later, Never Forgotten.” This year’s observance will pay special tribute to the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War, honoring the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of Vietnam veterans and their families.
The campaign launches today, calling on the community to join in remembering the service of these men and women—many of whom did not receive the recognition they deserved when they returned home. A series of events and initiatives will highlight their contributions, ensuring that this milestone anniversary is marked with the dignity and gratitude owed to them.
“This year, we have a unique opportunity to come together as a city and honor a generation of veterans who were not always welcomed home in the way they deserved,” said Mayor Steven L. Reed. “The theme ‘50 Years Later, Never Forgotten’ is a solemn promise that their service and sacrifice will forever be etched in our hearts and in our history. I encourage all residents to join us in showing our Vietnam veterans that their courage and commitment are deeply valued and will never be forgotten.”
