Faulkner Law Celebrates Record Enrollment, Expanding National Reach in 98th Year
September 10, 2026MONTGOMERY, Ala. — As the Thomas Goode Jones School of Law at Faulkner University begins its 98th year of legal education, the law school is celebrating record enrollment and significant growth in applications, reflecting an expanding national reach and growing interest in its programs.
As of August 17, 2026, the Fall 2026 entering class includes 193 registered students representing 18 states and two countries. For the first time in the law school's history, a majority of the entering class, 55%, comes from outside Alabama.
The class includes students from across the country, with Alabama, Georgia and Florida representing the top three states. Texas and Tennessee are tied for fourth.
Women make up 55.4% of the entering class while men account for 44.6%. The three most represented undergraduate institutions are Auburn University, the University of Alabama and Troy University.
The record enrollment follows an exceptional recruiting cycle for Faulkner Law. Overall applications increased 35.2% compared with the previous cycle, placing the law school among the top 25 law schools in the nation for application growth.
Applications to Faulkner Law's full-time program increased 41.2%, placing the program among the top ten nationally for application growth.
By comparison, law schools nationwide averaged an 10.8% increase in applications over the previous year.
Faulkner Law's growth also came without sacrificing the academic quality of its incoming class. The law school's 75th percentile LSAT and GPA metrics both increased.
The Fall 2026 class reflects the continued strength of Faulkner Law's traditional base in Alabama while demonstrating the school's expanding national and international appeal.
Once primarily a regional law school, Faulkner Law has developed a growing national recruiting footprint. University leaders attribute that growth to several factors, including the school's nationally recognized Trial Advocacy program, strong employment outcomes and innovative Executive Schedule.
As Faulkner Law welcomes its newest class, the law school remains committed to maintaining its deep ties to Alabama's legal community while preparing students from across the nation and the globe for meaningful careers in the legal profession.Faulkner University
