MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Due to a significant increase in enrollment and demand for on-campus housing, Faulkner University has reached maximum residential capacity for the Fall 2026 semester and has entered a collaboration with Auburn University at Montgomery to provide temporary housing for a limited number of eligible students.
With nearly 700 students expected to live on campus this fall, university officials said the agreement with AUM ensures students who submitted later housing requests or deposits will still have access to campus housing while remaining fully engaged in the Faulkner community.
Students will be housed at AUM temporarily depending on attrition and the availability of housing on Faulkner's campus. Faulkner will relocate students back to its residence halls as vacancies become available.
To support students living at AUM, Faulkner will assign both a male and a female resident assistant to oversee students’ needs. Students will remain subject to all Faulkner University policies, including chapel attendance, dress code and student conduct expectations, while also following AUM residence hall and campus policies. Male and female Faulkner students will be housed in separate wings of the facility.
Students residing at AUM also will have access to the university's fitness center and shuttle service to local retail and shopping destinations. In addition, AUM will provide three daily shuttle routes between its campus and Faulkner University, with morning, midday and evening transportation available.
University officials expressed appreciation for Auburn University at Montgomery's willingness to assist during this period of unprecedented residential growth.

"This ongoing spirit of cooperation allows us to continue providing our students with a quality residential experience while ensuring they remain connected to the Faulkner community."
The housing collaboration reflects Faulkner University's continued enrollment growth and the increasing demand for its service-centered educational experience. It also reflects a historical friendship between the two universities who are committed to helping students thrive in the River Region.
