Trenholm State Community College will host students from the Blackbelt Scholars STEM Camp, a program that exposes middle and high school students in the Blackbelt area to science, math, engineering, and technology instructions that are not included in the regular classrooms.
The camp consists of four weeks of extensive exposure to STEM work, careers, and stem research, through hands-on activities, as well as using technology. Free weekly field trips are also offered to allow for educational experiences outside of the classroom.

BACKGROUND: During this visit the students will learn more about Trenholm State as a college option. Additionally, they will explore a variety of programs that Trenholm offers – such as Computer Information Science, Electrical Technology, and Industrial Systems & Automation. The goal of the visit is to show the students that they can attend an HBCU on a smaller scale and they can earn an associate degree – specifically a technical certificate.
