  • BEASLEY ALLEN NAMES TWELVE NEW PRINCIPALS AT THREE LOCATIONS

    Montgomery, Ala. (January 18, 2023) – Beasley Allen has named twelve lawyers as new principals and three as new associates at three of its locations.
     
    Demet Basar is an attorney in the Consumer Fraud & Commercial Litigation Section of Beasley Allen's Montgomery office. Demet has nearly 30 years of experience in complex class action litigation. Her practice is focused on representing consumers in class actions seeking redress for unfair and deceptive practices, including the marketing and sale of defective products. Demet received a B.A. from Fairleigh Dickinson University (1984) and a J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law (1990). She is a member of the New York City Bar Association and the American Association for Justice.
     
    Elliot Bienenfeld is an attorney in the Toxic Torts Section of Beasley Allen's Atlanta office. His career has focused on the intersection of technology and the law in complex litigation. He is leveraging his experience to work on water pollution and other complex litigation in the firm. Before joining the firm, Elliot was a discovery attorney and project manager for a firm specializing in customized solutions for managing electronically stored information (ESI) in legal matters. He received a B.A. in Talmudic Law from Yeshiva of the Nation's Capitol (2011) and a J.D. from Emory University School of Law (2014). He is a member of the Georgia State Bar and the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyer Foundation Saturday Lawyer Program.
     
    Tiffany Birley is an attorney in the Mass Torts Section of Beasley Allen's Montgomery office. She is currently investigating cases involving proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). These include the well-known drugs Prilosec, Prevacid, and Nexium, and they are available both as prescription and over-the-counter drugs. Before joining Beasley Allen, Tiffany worked as a clerk for the Honorable Judge Tracy McCooey in Montgomery County Circuit Court. She received a B.A. in political science from Jacksonville State University (2008) and a J.D. from Faulkner University's Thomas Goode Jones School of Law (2012). She is a member of the Alabama State Bar.
     
    Ryan Duplechin is an attorney in the Mass Torts Section of Beasley Allen's Montgomery office. Ryan handles products liability cases involving prescription drugs, medical devices, and dietary supplements.  He has served as lead attorney in oral arguments before various federal and state courts and authored briefs before the Alabama Supreme Court and New Jersey Supreme Court.  Ryan is also the Chair of Beasley Allen's Summer Associate Program. He received a B.A. from Florida State University (2013) and a J.D. from Faulkner University's Thomas Goode Jones School of Law (2017). Ryan currently serves in leadership roles for the Alabama State Bar's Young Lawyers Section, the Birmingham Bar Association's Young Lawyers Section, and the Alabama Association for Justice's Emerging Leaders.
     
    Paul Evans is an attorney in the Consumer Fraud & Commercial Litigation Section of Beasley Allen's Montgomery office. Paul handles business litigation, whistleblower claims, and class actions, specifically those involving insurance-related claims. He received a B.S. from Troy University (2014) and a J.D. from Faulkner University's Thomas Goode Jones School of Law (2017). Paul is a member of the Alabama State Bar, Alabama State Bar Young Lawyers Section, Montgomery County Bar Association Young Lawyers Section, Emerging Leaders for Alabama Association for Justice, Taxpayers Against Fraud, and American Association for Justice.
     
    Rebecca Gilliland is an attorney in the Consumer Fraud & Commercial Litigation Section of Beasley Allen's Mobile office. Rebecca has been involved in multistate litigation that seeks to recover money on behalf of the states that paid for pharmaceutical products and devices due to fraudulent and deceptive acts against the states. She is currently involved in several class actions, including working with our auto defect team. She earned a B.A. from the University of West Florida (2007), a J.D. from Faulkner University's Thomas Goode Jones School of Law (2012), and an LL.M. from the University of Connecticut School of Law (2018). Rebecca is a member of the Alabama State Bar and Florida State Bar and is Treasurer of the Escambia-Santa Rosa Bar Association.
     
    Warner Hornsby is an attorney in the Personal Injury & Products Liability Section of Beasley Allen's Montgomery office. He handles cases involving serious injury and death related to automobile accidents, dangerous machinery, defective products, and negligence. Warner earned a B.A. from the University of the South: Sewanee (2013) and a J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law (2016). He is a member of the Alabama State Bar and Montgomery County Bar Association.
     
    Julia Merritt is an attorney in the Toxic Torts Section of Beasley Allen's Atlanta office. She handles cases involving Camp Lejeune and Paraquat. In July 2021, Julia was appointed by Southern District of Illinois Judge Nancy J. Rosenstengel to serve on the Plaintiffs' Executive Committee for In Re: Paraquat Products Liability Litigation, the national multidistrict litigation regarding the herbicide paraquat. Julia earned a B.A. from Northwestern University (2000) and a J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law (2005). She is a member of the Georgia State Bar, Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, American Association for Justice, and Mass Torts Made Perfect.
     
    Lauren Miles is an attorney in the Consumer Fraud & Commercial Litigation Section of Beasley Allen's Montgomery office. Lauren is working on class action litigation involving consumer fraud in the healthcare industry and qui tam litigation under the False Claims Act. She earned a B.A. in political science from Birmingham Southern College (2012) and a J.D. from Cumberland School of Law (2015). Lauren is a member of the Alabama State Bar, National Trial Lawyers Association, Young Lawyers Section of the Birmingham Bar Association, American Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, Phi Alpha Delta Legal Society, and Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science Honor Society.
     
    Wyatt Montgomery is an attorney in the Personal Injury & Products Liability Section of Beasley Allen's Mobile office. Wyatt handles a variety of personal injury cases, representing individuals who have been injured and family members of deceased victims. His practice is primarily focused on product liability actions and commercial vehicle wrecks. He earned a B.A. from the University of Alabama (2010) and a J.D. from Faulkner University's Thomas Goode Jones School of Law (2013). Wyatt is a member of the Alabama State Bar, the Alabama State Bar Young Lawyers Section, the Alabama Association for Justice, and the Birmingham Bar Association.
     
    Davis Vaughn is an attorney in the Mass Torts Section of Beasley Allen's Montgomery office. He is heavily involved
    in the JUUL e-cigarette multidistrict litigation pending in the Northern District of California that seeks to hold JUUL and
    other defendants accountable for the youth vaping epidemic. He has assisted the Trial, Law & Briefing, Bellwether,
    Expert and Discovery Committees with each aspect of case workup, discovery, and trial preparation. Davis is also
    involved in the Social Media multidistrict litigation pending in the Northern District of California that seeks to hold Meta, TikTok, Snap, and YouTube/Google accountable for harming adolescents. He earned a B.A. from the University of Alabama (2014) and a J.D. from the University of Mississippi School of Law (2017). Recently, Davis was selected to the National Trial Lawyers – Top 40 Under 40, an invitation-only organization that extends membership to civil plaintiff attorneys who exemplify superior qualifications. Davis is a member of the Alabama State Bar and the American Association for Justice.
     
    Ken Wilson is an attorney in the Toxic Torts Section of Beasley Allen's Atlanta office. He is a part of the firm's team working with Georgia Attorney General Christopher Carr in Georgia's opioid litigation. Ken earned a B.A. from Morehouse College (2010) and a J.D. from Mercer University's Walter F. George School of Law (2014). He is a member of the Georgia State Bar, Dekalb County Bar Association, and Georgia Trial Lawyers Association.
