MAX CREDIT UNION ANNOUNCES KEY EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP PROMOTIONS
June 10, 2026

MONTGOMERY, AL (June 10, 2026) — MAX, a full-service financial institution, announced two significant promotions within its executive leadership team, reinforcing the organization’s longstanding commitment to developing exceptional people who serve its members with excellence.
Tara McDowell has been named Chief Talent Officer, and Brantley Leverette has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer.
“These promotions are a reflection of who we are at MAX,” said Martin Head, President and CEO. “We believe deeply in growing leaders who understand our members, our mission, and our culture. Tara and Brantley embody that, and I’m proud to see them step into these expanded roles.”
Tara McDowell steps into the Chief Talent Officer role with a proven record of thoughtful, innovative leadership. Previously serving as Vice President of Human Resources, McDowell has developed a deep understanding of MAX’s organizational culture and a clear vision for the future of its talent strategy. Her broad experience across multiple areas of the Credit Union uniquely positions her to lead the people-first initiatives that have long defined MAX’s approach to serving both its team members and its members.
Brantley Leverette has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer following a tenure as Senior Vice President of Finance, a role in which Brantley demonstrated the strategic insight and financial discipline MAX depends on to fulfill its mission.
An additional promotion includes Lori Sellers, who has been named Vice President of Finance/Controller. Sellers began her Accounting career with MAX in 1998 serving in a variety of roles. Most recently, she was Assistant Vice President of Investments, gaining experience that prepared her for this elevated position.
The promotions follow the retirement of Sandra Branch, Chief Talent Officer, whose more than 35 years of service leaves a lasting legacy on MAX's culture and its people. Branch retired on May 15, 2026.
