Ribbon Cutting - Montgomery Habitat for Humanity for New Road into New Hope Village
-
Montgomery Habitat for Humanity will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion and opening of the road at the corner of Millard Fuller Drive and Alabama River Parkway. The newly completed road will improve access for homeowners in the Habitat New Hope Village community and represents the culmination of a collaborative effort between the City of Montgomery and Montgomery Habitat for Humanity.
Habitat partner families, supporters, volunteers, and community partners will join Montgomery Habitat for Humanity for the ceremony, celebrating a shared vision of bringing people together to create stable, affordable homeownership opportunities in Montgomery.
“We are excited about the completion of the road at the end of Millard Fuller Drive and the improved access it will provide for our Habitat homeowners,” said Susan Johnson, President/CEO of Montgomery Habitat for Humanity. “Millard Fuller was the founder of Habitat for Humanity, and our past board members wanted to recognize his legacy by naming this road in his honor. This new road will provide better access and direct entry into the New Hope Village community. We are grateful to the City of Montgomery and District 2 Councilwoman Julie Beard for their diligence and work on this project.”
The road project was made possible through the support and collaboration of the City of Montgomery; Montgomery City Council District 2 Councilwoman Julie Beard; Montgomery County Commission; Montgomery Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors; Montgomery Habitat Advisory Board and private stakeholders.
