MONTGOMERY, Ala. (03/12/2024) - Several Montgomery County roads are set to receive major improvements in the coming months thanks to recent funding from the Montgomery County Commission.

At their February 20 meeting, Commissioners approved funding for 34 road improvement projects across the county.

The projects include repaving and traffic striping totaling over 59 miles.

Funding for the road improvements comes from the Montgomery County Rebuild Alabama Fund (CRAF), Federal Aid Exchange Fund, and Montgomery County General Funds. The total cost of the projects is $6,840,833.07.

“Safe and reliable roadways are vitally important,” said Montgomery County Commission Chairman Doug Singleton. “This investment is part of Montgomery County’s continued commitment to ensuring our infrastructure is top-notch and maintained to the highest standard!”

Citizens should expect some minor delays and traffic pattern changes during the construction process.

Residents can go to the Montgomery County Road Improvement Map on the County’s website, www.mc-ala.org, to see recent and upcoming road projects.

Since 2017, the Montgomery County Commission has authorized over $24 million in new road improvements countywide.
