Montgomery Chamber Diversity Summit is Sept. 27 National speakers will discuss The Business of Diversity

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce Diversity Summit will be Tuesday, Sept. 27 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa at the Convention Center. Presenting sponsor is Stivers Ford Lincoln. This year’s theme, The Business of Diversity, will focus on helping organizations align diversity strategies with business strategies.

The Montgomery Chamber Diversity Summit features experts from throughout the country and local panels discussing the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace. This year’s keynote speakers are Larry Thornton, president and owner of Thornton Enterprises, Inc. (a McDonald’s franchisee), and Ernst & Young executives Karyn Twaronite, global diversity and inclusiveness officer, and Karole Lloyd, Southeast regional managing partner.

Sessions will cover a variety of topics including the importance of gender balance in the workplace, strategies for developing successful diversity and inclusion programs and using cultural differences to improve your workplace. Presenters will also discuss making the most of millennials and using diversity, data and technology to drive business.

“The Montgomery Chamber Diversity Summit offers an excellent opportunity for organizations and individuals to gain valuable information they can put into practice to achieve greater success,” said Montgomery Chamber Board Chairman A. Bruce Crawford. “Participants benefit from the advice of nationally-recognized experts and have the chance to connect with other professionals throughout the River Region and beyond.”

Following the day’s sessions, attendees will be invited to a networking reception sponsored by Morgan Stanley from 3:15 - 5 p.m.

Space is limited, and previous Diversity Summits have sold out. Cost is $85 for Chamber members and $100 for nonmembers. Register at montgomerychamber.com/diversity or call (334) 240-9299. To learn more about sessions and speakers, visit montgomerychamber.com/diversityagenda.
