May 8, 2026 — As the nation celebrates both National Small Business Week and Military Spouse Appreciation Day, the Montgomery Regional Chamber is proud to spotlight a leader whose story reflects resilience, innovation and service — Cheryl W. Brown, founder and CEO of ZealRiver Technologies, Inc..
Brown’s journey is one defined by determination, leadership and a commitment to excellence. As the CEO of ZealRiver Technologies, Inc., and managing partner of ZRS Solutions, she leads organizations that provide enterprise IT solutions and support services to commercial and federal agencies across the continental United States. Under her leadership, the company has built a reputation for delivering innovative technology solutions while fostering strong organizational and financial growth.
Before becoming an entrepreneur, Brown spent 25 years supporting the U.S. Department of Defense through mission-critical government contracting work. Her experience included supporting projects such as Combat Information Transport, Air Force Total Lifecycle Acquisition Support, the Keesler Air Force Base Water Lift Project following Hurricane Katrina, and North American Aerospace Defense Command operations.
In 2016, Brown took a leap of faith and launched ZealRiver Technologies, pursuing a vision not only for professional success, but also to inspire her two sons by showing them the power of perseverance and purpose-driven leadership. That entrepreneurial spirit has helped position ZealRiver as a thriving SBA-certified business with designations including 8(a), EDWOSB, WOSB, DBE and MBE.
A graduate of Troy University with a Bachelor of Science in Resource Management, Brown has cultivated a company culture rooted in customer satisfaction, collaboration and forward-thinking innovation. ZealRiver’s expertise spans enterprise network solutions, IT services, advisory support and emerging technical competencies that continue to meet the evolving needs of federal and commercial partners.
Beyond her professional achievements, Brown’s role as a military spouse remains central to her story. As the wife of Command Sergeant Major Douglas Brown, she understands the unique sacrifices, adaptability and strength required of military families. Her ability to balance entrepreneurship, leadership and family life serves as an inspiration to aspiring business owners across the Montgomery region and beyond.
Military spouses often serve as the quiet force behind military readiness, while simultaneously building careers, businesses and stronger communities. During Military Spouse Appreciation Day and Small Business Week, the Chamber recognizes leaders like Cheryl W. Brown whose impact reaches far beyond business success.
The Montgomery Regional Chamber is honored to celebrate military spouse entrepreneurs who continue to drive innovation, create opportunities and strengthen our regional economy through their leadership and service
