MONTGOMERY – Mayor Steven L. Reed today issued a resolution (attached) closing all entertainment districts in Montgomery effective immediately.

“In keeping with our focus on the health and safety of Montgomery residents, we are closing all entertainment districts in Montgomery indefinitely,” Mayor Reed said. “We hope everyone will continue adhering to the latest guidelines from ADPH and CDC. We also launched a landing page, mgmready.com, to make finding  the latest information on Covid-19 and its impact in our region easier for residents.”

The order pertains to the open container drinking policies in these districts. Businesses in these districts retain the privilege to sell to customers as long as there is no consumption of food or beverages on premises. This resolution follows orders issued by the Alabama Department of Public Health suspending certain public gatherings.
