SUMMARY:Health and Wellness Event
DESCRIPTION:The City of Montgomery was awarded $3.9 Million by the Office of Minority Health (OMH) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in July 2021. The Advancing Health Literacy to Enhance Equitable Community Responses to COVID-19 grant seeks to demonstrate the effectiveness of local government implementation of evidence-based health literacy strategies that are culturally appropriate to enhance COVID-19 testing\, contact tracing\, and/or other mitigation measures (e.g.\, public health prevention practices and vaccination) in racial and ethnic minority populations and other socially vulnerable populations\, including racial and ethnic minority rural communities.\n\n \n\nTo accomplish the goals and objectives of the grant\, the City of Montgomery and grant partners created the Central Alabama Neighborhood Health Initiative (CANHI) to collaboratively increase the rates of COVID-19 testing and vaccinations\, increase health literacy\, improve patient experience and patient-provider relations in Elmore\, Montgomery\, and Pike Counties.\n\n \n\nWe are excited to extend an invitation to you for our upcoming event at the Wetumpka Civic Center on January 13\, 2024\, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. This event promises to be a fantastic opportunity to support our local community and promote health and wellness. We are contacting potential partners interested in organizing or participating in community events that educate the community about local health services.\n\n \n\nEvent Highlights:\n\n  Health vendors\n\n  Health professionals\n\n  Testing and vaccinations\n\n  Exercise demonstrations\n\n  And much more!\n\n \n\nTo make this event a resounding success\, we need your support\, and we invite you to become a Community Partner for this event. Promote the Event: We kindly request that you share our event on your social media platforms to help us reach a wider audience and raise awareness.\n\n2. Booth Setup: Each Community Partner will be provided with one table and two chairs. Please feel free to bring any additional supplies or decorations to enhance your booth.\n\n3. Meal Tickets: All Community Partners in attendance will receive a meal ticket.\n\n4. Booth Setup Time: Please plan to arrive between 8:30 am and 9:30 am on the morning of the event to ensure you have sufficient time to set up your booth.\n\n \n\nIf you have any questions or concerns or want to participate as a Community Partner\, please do not hesitate to contact us.
