Eve-olution - Eve's Studio is a One-Stop Shop for Making Women Feel Beautiful
by Rebecca Flatt>
A picture of her paternal grandmother, Flora Lorenzo West, is framed in the foyer, watching over this business each day. A vibrant green plant that was West’s, now more than 40 years old, greets patrons as they enter this one-stop shop. Eve’s Studio has a story, and no one tells it better than its owner, Eve Moseley. She was a girly-girl, but loved sports and was quite outdoorsy. “I wanted to be a vet,” Moseley says. “But my parents knew I was not the sit-still type, and I had to be up moving around and being creative.”
And as she grew up, Moseley knew her calling was to be a professional in the field of making women feel beautiful. Helping working women juggle everyday activities by owning a gift boutique where several things could be scratched off the daily list in one swift motion was her goal. Today, it is a reality.
By definition, a boutique is a small shopping outlet, especially one that specializes in elite and fashionable items such as clothing and jewelry. But Moseley chose to expand and offer other services in addition to the beads and baubles.
Her grandmother was a well-known hairdresser in North Carolina, but no one told Moseley until she graduated from beauty school as a master cosmetologist. As she tells more of the story, she motions to that picture of Flora in the front hallway. Who knew a picture and a plant could mean so much to a professional business woman, but they do.
“Accommodating whatever your needs are all under one roof, that’s our goal,” Moseley says.
Eve’s Studio has an honest mission to do whatever it can, and whatever it takes, to serve its customers. Her warm smile is inviting, her charm sincere. She genuinely wants customers to feel like family. The studio in Montgomery’s Mulberry District is homey, a comforting place to peruse its many gift items and relax while getting primped and pampered.
“We like to give customers that personal touch,” she says. “They can call us and we will put together a customized gift basket and have it ready for pick-up at their convenience.”
The business has four distinct areas. A gift shop offering items from candles and pewter serving pieces to hair accessories and clothing items fills two rooms of the 1920s-style cottage.
A full-scale salon equipped in taking the everyday woman from drab to fab opens into the kitchen, which houses a branch of “Gigi’s Fabulous Foods,” a perfect pick-up station for lunch or dinner to go.
“Faces by Tracy” is in the rear of the house, offering make-up applications, facials, acne treatments, chemical peels and skincare consultations. Eve’s does not take anything lightly, especially when it comes to hair and skincare, making sure that only a few select brands such as Redken, Goldwell Berry and Nioxin are used. They also offer the very best in hair accessories and make-up, using Repechage and other “fabulous lines of color.” A nail studio is in the works for the fall and will employ a master nail technician.
Additionally, tax is included in the sticker price of each gift item. Eve’s offers a preferred customer program, where participants receive 10 percent off all gift items excluding hair and skincare services, and an additional 10 percent off sale items.
Various specials, including several unique trunk shows, are offered throughout the year. Men should take advantage of this unique boutique. It is the perfect place to find a special gift item in a non-intimidating atmosphere, one that can be wrapped and ready to go without having to worry.
Christmas is magical at Eve’s Studio, and the staff begins planning for the holiday season well in advance. The Mulberry District’s Holiday Open Houses take place the first weekend in November. During that time, the six-room house is transformed into a winter wonderland with gifts galore.
While having created a business that is literally an all-in-one, Moseley focuses on keeping it affordable with price points that accommodate all clientèle. “Working in a place where we make people feel special is such a gift,” she says. “We always have the client’s best interest at heart.”
Stop by and pick up a wedding gift, grab a casserole for dinner and get a complete makeover, all in one easy stop. It is Eve Studio’s specialty.
