The Chamber
The Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce
What is the Chamber?
The Chamber is a fully-integrated economic development organization, dedicated to both job creation and job preservation. As a member-based business organization, we work to grow markets for our members. Our work is focused in the following areas:
- Recruitment and expansion of existing businesses.
- Development and nurturing of entrepreneurial and minority businesses.
- Tourism and convention development.
- Military and federal affairs.
We also champion a broad array of community development issues as they relate to our mission, including governmental affairs, public education and leadership development.
We have been the driving force for building successful businesses and a vibrant economy since 1873. Governed by a volunteer board of directors and operated by a professional staff, the Chamber works to ensure that businesses have what they need to flourish.
The Chamber is the voice of business in governmental affairs, both locally and on a national level, providing products and services to member businesses that help them grow and prosper. Through consistent communication with members, and a volunteer climate that encourages involvement and service, the Chamber develops and implements programs that are relevant to the needs of member businesses.
