The City of Montgomery, the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce and Wright Flyers are coordinating efforts to designate November 5-11 as Military Appreciation Week 2006 to recognize and show our appreciation to our military neighbors.

Military Appreciation Week is designed to honor all branches of the armed services in the River Region, including active duty military personnel, reserves, National Guard and retired personnel. Particularly in light of the country's current war efforts, it is more important than ever to thank our military for the service they provide in protecting our country and our very way of life.

Area merchants and retailers are offering discounts to military personnel and their families during the week of November 5-11. These discounts can come in the form of a significant percentage off food or merchandise, two-for-one discounts, or other forms of discounts. A complete list of merchants and discounts will be available online..
