Montgomery ranks 80 in the top 100 best places to raise a family

05/22/08

Parents want to raise their children somewhere safe, with good schools, favorable student-teacher ratios, above-average test scores, access to museums, parks and good pediatricians. They do not want commutes, high home costs and crime rates or communities with high divorce rates. MSNBC Today Show's Best Life editors used these categories and data from the U.S. Census Bureau, the National Center for Education Statistics, the FBI, the American Association of Museums, the National Center for Health Statistics and the American Bar Association to evaluate 257 cities.
