Bus
Greyhound and Capital Trailways maintain and operate terminals in Montgomery. The Montgomery Area Transit System also provides commuter bus service.
Package Delivery Services
Greyhound Bus Lines along with locally-owned Hackbarth Delivery Service, Inc., offer package pick-up and delivery service. UPS's 160,000-square foot facility, located in Montgomery, serves as a hub for their Alabama operations.

Montgomery's excellent transportation infrastructure and its proximity to large, rapidly growing consumer and industrial markets are among the most important factors contributing to its vibrant economic growth. Montgomery's interstate highways, motor freight terminals, rail systems, barge transportation and air service offer an exceptionally diverse distribution network.
Montgomery Regional Airport recently completed a $40 million renovation and expansion to enlarge the facility to accommodate future growth. Phase I of the renovation included construction of a new second-floor passenger boarding area, expanded baggage makeup and security space, and demolition of the existing passenger boarding area and old control tower. Phase II included construction of a two-story rotunda building that serves as the new main entry to the airport facility, re-routing of the street entrance to the airport, and an additional 120-130 parking spaces.

Charter, rental and leasing services are also available through two fixed-base operations. Montgomery Regional Airport is located within the city limits and is served by two runways as long as 9,000 feet and the most modern navigational aids.

Air cargo and package express services are available from a number of firms including Montgomery Air Freight, Inc., Airborne Express, Airgroup Express, Emery Worldwide, Federal Express, as well as local firms and the commercial air carriers serving the Montgomery area.
Water
The Alabama River offers a nine-foot channel for barge transportation to the Gulf of Mexico through the Port of Mobile. The Alabama State Docks in Montgomery maintain a public dock with 100-ton capacity inside a protected barge turning basin. Via the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway, barge transportation is available between Montgomery and the Great Lakes.
